Learn how we manage app updates and constant improvements for you.

How app updates work at tchop

At tchop, we're committed to continuously improving your community app experience across all user touch points. That means rolling out regular updates to both the mobile apps and the web platform — including new features, performance improvements and of course also bug fixes (yes, bugs happen..🙈).

Whether you're using our standard setup or a customized version, here's what you need to know about how and when we update your apps.

Mobile app updates

We update all client mobile apps — on both iOS and Android — approximately every two months. These updates include:

  • ✨ New features and enhancements

  • 🛠 Bug fixes and technical improvements

  • 🔒 Security updates and performance boosts

To keep things smooth and efficient, we do not require individual client approval for each update. Coordinating per-client releases would slow down delivery and reduce overall quality and consistency across the platform.

Rest assured: we carefully test every update and ensure it works with each app's specific configuration. So updates often provide new options and features, that help you to become more successful, to engage users more efficiently, to create an even better experience.

So updates in the vast majority of cases do work seamlessly for our clients and also your users.

Note: with each update you also have the opportunity to update app store information, screens or app store keywords and settings!

You stay in control

Even though updates are automatic, your team always maintains full control over your app’s:

  • Navigation and structure

  • Feature visibility

  • Branding and visual customizations

If a new feature is optional or configurable (many are!), you're free to enable, disable, or tailor it to your community’s needs.

We publish all changes transparently through our roadmap and our release notes, which all clients can review and follow anytime.

Web app updates

Our web app (including the backend dashboard for editors, admins, and community managers) is updated even more frequently — typically at least once per month.

Because there’s no app store approval process, updates can be deployed faster and with more flexibility.

These updates may include:

  • New backend features and settings

  • User experience and workflow improvements

  • Tools for better content management and app control

  • Fixes and technical updates behind the scenes

As always, we communicate any impactful changes through release notes and provide guidance on how to make the most of new capabilities.
