🌐 Deploy your own landing page

Put a public page in front of your community. Build it with any tool you like and integrate it with your community - all on one domain.

If your community lives in a tchop app, anyone typing your domain into a browser usually lands on a login screen. For someone who does not have an account yet, that is a dead end. It also leaves search engines with nothing useful to index, so people searching for your community find app store listings, or nothing at all.

A landing page on your own domain fixes both. Visitors get a public page that explains what the community is, shows what the app looks like, links to both app stores and leads straight into sign-up. The app itself stays exactly where it was, under the same address.

How it works

Your domain gets routed so that the public page appears at the root, while sign-up and login continue to be served by the app under the same domain. Your visitors never see any of this. They see one address, one brand, and a page that leads into your community.

The part tchop provides is the routing and the plumbing around it. The page itself can come from anywhere.

You choose how the page is built

There is no required tool and no template you have to accept. Pick whichever of these fits how you work:

  • Build it yourself. A website builder such as Framer, Webflow, Wix or WordPress, an AI tool that generates the page for you, your own agency, or hand-written HTML. All of it works.

  • Hand it to us. We design and build a compact page from your brand, your app screenshots and a copy draft you approve. Updates go through us.

  • Mix the two. Some customers have an agency do the design and let us handle the build, hosting and search engine groundwork.

One thing to settle early: where the finished page will be hosted. It can live with us, or stay with the builder you used. That decision changes how the routing is set up, so tell us before you start rather than after.

What the page has to do, whatever you build it with

  • Send people to the app for sign-up and login. Your buttons link to the app's own sign-up and login addresses on your domain. Do not rebuild those forms. Accounts, passwords and social logins stay with the app.

  • Carry your imprint and privacy policy on their own addresses, reachable from every page.

  • Work on a phone. Most visitors arrive from a shared link on a mobile device.

  • Load quickly. If the page pulls in fonts, videos, maps or analytics from other providers, you will most likely need a consent banner. Keeping everything on your own server avoids that entirely.

  • Have a preview image for shared links. For a community that spreads by word of mouth, this is worth more than most ranking work.

What we need from you

  • Support to add DNS entries. Either direct access or a named person who can create records. We tell you exactly which record to create, it is normally one line.

  • Your legal content. For a German-language site this means the imprint details required by law: provider name, full postal address, phone, email, VAT identification number where applicable, and the person responsible for editorial content. You also need to decide who appears as the provider, because that carries legal responsibility. This is the single most common reason a launch slips.

  • App store links. The public URLs of your iOS and Android listings.

  • Screenshots, with the rights sorted. Real screenshots from your live app are the most persuasive element on the page. They also need the most care. See the next section.

If we are building the page for you, add your logo, brand colours and fonts. We can also take them straight from your live app so the page and the product match exactly.

Screenshots need clearance

A screenshot of a real feed usually contains other people's data. Showing a member's display name, profile picture and comment inside your app is one purpose. Showing the same thing on a public marketing page is a different one, and it needs that person's consent.

In practice there are two clean routes. Either you ask the members whose content is visible, or you replace their name and picture with a neutral demo profile and keep the layout. The second is faster and it is what we do by default.

The same applies to editorial images inside the screenshot. A press photo licensed for your newsroom is not automatically licensed for advertising. Check each one, or crop it out.

Finally, decide whether visible personal details are acceptable: notification badges, the account avatar in the corner, the clock. Some customers want them cleaned up, others find they make the page look real.

How much page is the right amount

Most communities are served well by a single page with a handful of sections: what this is, what is inside, how to join, plus the legal pages. It stays fast, it is cheap to change and there is nothing to maintain.

If you expect to publish something new every week, or you want a blog alongside it, choose a tool that is built for that from the start. Retrofitting a content management system onto a single page is more work than starting with one.

Search engines

Four things matter more than the rest, and only one of them is technical.

  • Write for the words people type, not the words you use internally. Communities develop their own vocabulary. Members may call something by a nickname that nobody outside would ever search for. The page has to carry both, and a short questions-and-answers section at the bottom is the painless way to do it.

  • Check whether you are competing with yourself. Sometimes an official app, a parent organisation or a partner already ranks for the obvious term. Fighting that is wasted effort. Look it up before writing and pick terms you can actually win.

  • One good inbound link beats everything on the page. If a site with standing in your field links to your domain, results follow within weeks. If nobody links to it, a technically perfect page still takes months. This is the one lever only you can pull.

  • Set up Google Search Console before launch. It is a ten minute job and it lets you tell Google about the new page on day one instead of waiting for it to be noticed. We will walk you through it.

Privacy

Our recommendation is a page that loads nothing from anyone else: fonts served from the same server as the page, no cookies, no tracking pixels, no embedded maps or videos. That keeps the privacy policy short and easy to defend, and it means no consent banner.

If you build the page with a website builder, check what it loads in the background. Many builders pull fonts or analytics from third parties by default. That is allowed, but it changes your privacy policy and usually means adding a consent banner. Decide deliberately rather than by accident.

What to expect

Once the page exists and we have your material, the routing is quick. The waiting is almost never technical. It is legal content and rights clearance.

The fastest projects are the ones where the imprint details and the screenshot permissions are settled before design starts. If you gather those two things first, everything after is quick.

Getting started

Speak to your tchop contact. We will confirm the domain, agree who builds the page and where it will live, send you the short list of details we need, and share a preview before anything goes live on your address.
