👎🏼 Bad Word Lists
We filter out bad words in posts and comments to create safe spaces for your users.
To help keep your community spaces respectful and safe, tchop offers built-in Bad Word Lists for both English and German.
These lists automatically filter or block inappropriate language in comments, posts, and usernames — ensuring a positive and professional communication environment.
How it works
The bad word list is activated by default for all communities.
It automatically checks all user-generated content (comments, discussions, posts, usernames).
Detected words can be hidden, replaced, or used to trigger moderation workflows, depending on your setup.
Dynamic & Customizable
Our word lists are dynamic — they evolve over time as we add, update, or refine entries based on user feedback and new findings. You can also:
Extend the list with your own custom words or phrases.
Remove words that may be acceptable in your specific community context.
Use separate rules for different channels or languages.
💡 Tip: For bilingual or international communities, both English and German lists can run in parallel.
Supported Languages

(Additional languages can be added on request.)
If you are interested, we can of course provide you with the current default lists anytime.
