🛡️ Biometric ID
Protect access to your mobile apps with Face or Fingerprint IDs.
Biometric IDs to protect app access(Face ID & Fingerprint)
Security matters—especially when your mobile app handles sensitive internal content, communications, or data. With tchop, you have the option to add biometric authentication (like Face ID or fingerprint recognition) as an extra layer of protection for your app and your users.
While this is something not so relevant in most consumer app cases, it's key to for many enterprises, especially if they want to implement a bring-your-own-device strategy.
What is Biometric ID?
Biometric ID uses the built-in security features of modern smartphones—such as Face ID (iOS) or fingerprint sensors (Android)—to verify a user’s identity. It's fast, seamless, and secure.
Instead of entering a password or PIN every time, users can simply unlock the app with their face or fingerprint.
If this feature is enabled users need to verify their identity with each app session.
Why enable piometric protection?
Here are the main benefits:
Enhanced app security
Adds a layer of security on top of existing authentication to protect against unauthorized access—even if the phone is unlocked.Perfect for internal or confidential use cases
Ideal for enterprise apps, internal communications, or apps with sensitive content that should only be accessible to verified users.Frictionless user experience
Fast and convenient—users don’t have to remember extra passwords or go through multi-step logins.Peace of mind for admins
Ensures only authenticated users can access the app, aligning with modern compliance and security standards.Protect your content on private devices
Private devices are not controlled by the enterprise IT or MDM, they therefore provide significant risks. By protecting app access with Biometric ID you can mitigate these risks.
⚙️ How It Works with tchop
Biometric protection can be enabled per app (it's optional and customizable).
Once activated, users must authenticate with Face ID or fingerprint each time they open the app.
If authentication fails, access is denied until successful biometric verification or fallback (PIN/password, depending on device settings)
It's built on native device-level security features—no sensitive data is stored by tchop.
This setting can be added as part of your app configuration. Just let us know if you’d like to enable it, and we’ll guide you through the simple setup process.
✅ Pro Tip
Combine biometric login with other access controls (like invite-only user groups or restricted content sections) to build a highly secure, enterprise-grade mobile experience.
